this is the new atb (at the beach). the original atb ran from around 2001 to the fall of 2005. i figured it was time to finally begin another personal blog. so, here it is.

my other blog is solidadvent, which is about video games and stuff. i have some other stuff, which is posted here.

i check up on sarah's blog often, and i post on our joint blog and our wedding blog.

Ideas on remaking Gundam Wing

I’ve been thinking today about how cool it would be to remake old shows that didn’t quite hold up when I saw them the first time around. (sort of like The Rock) The candidate is a show I saw (and watched religiously) about ten years ago. Remembering it now, its hard I could get through some of the terrible writing.

1. Four seasons
2. Graphics like Rebuild of Evangelion
3. Kill off the original Trowa in the first season, the one we know takes over
4. Make Relena the vice foreign minister, don’t make her a whiny bitch, make her important (and she rises to power by accident ala Laura Roslin)
5. The gundams start in different places (some in space, some on earth)
6. The Barton Foundation is giving orders throughout the first season…
7. …but the season finale has the fed peaceniks getting killed by accident (again), the foundation getting blown up (or something) b/c of a traitor (maybe a gundam pilot), quatre gets captured and sandrock gets nearly destroyed, treize takes over but has problems consolidating rule and the romefeller foundation starts getting pissy
8. a lot more emphasis on the whole morality of war, morality of mobile dolls
9. more backstory on the conflict between the colonies and earth-why the colonies have a siege mentality
10. nurture the white fang development story throughout the seasons
11. kill off some b-list character in the first season (sally po, some romefeller guy, dorothy…whoever)
12. get rid of zechs’ stupid mask
13. give oz and all other organizations actual reasons why they are fighting
14. maybe season 3 has a space civil war or something
15. make duo an alcoholic, wufei a lot more distraught, have quatre go fucking crazy a lot more in season 2
16. have people change alliances a lot more.
17. explain the zero system more.
18. make the treize faction more understandable/important
19. all out, six-side war in season 2/3 between the fed remnants, white fang, oz, romefeller, treize faction, gundams?
20. consolidation of factions in season 4, but don’t let romefeller win on earth(?)
21. have relena order the death of heero when he goes off and does something retarded
22. actually try to have a mature debate on pacifism (and don’t give it such credence by all characters as something that is desirable)
23. in general make characters more fucked up…more human
24. everyone is at least 10 years older
