interesting question
Should the US just assume that Islamicist organizations like Hezbollah and the Islamic Courts Union are by definition an extension of the threat posed by Al Qaida (and/or will help AQ accomplish its strategic objectives, either by accident or on purpose), or can we co-opt these organizations in our fight against AQ? If we do the latter, are we working against our own strategic objectives? What the fuck are our strategic objectives? I think its probably a free and modern Middle East at peace internally and with us, but who knows.
