About

hi, i'm james mckinney. you know me. living the rest of my life now with my awesome wife!

this is the new atb (at the beach). the original atb ran from around 2001 to the fall of 2005. i figured it was time to finally begin another personal blog. so, here it is.

my other blog is solidadvent, which is about video games and stuff. i have some other stuff, which is posted here.

i check up on sarah's blog often, and i post on our joint blog and our wedding blog.

don't think that anything on this blog or anything i link to is anything more than my opinion. nothing on this blog is meant to represent anything besides my own thinking of the moment and is not representative of any organization or unit i may be in or affiliated with.

if you have any questions, comments, etc. please e-mail me at koholinttakeout@gmail.com.

So…

Ten things that have proven to be disastrous in the Age of Obama:

1) That big government is the answer. The stimulus in the face of the near-10% unemployment rate is a testament to that.
2) Our relationships with our traditional allies will be restored. (See: “Europe to Obama: This relationship is not working” also, the ongoing US-UK problems, G20 rebuffing Obama’s pleading for more stimulus…do I have to list anything else?)
3) That we shouldn’t piss off our enemies. START pales in comparison to the 2002 missile treaties signed under Bush. Iran is still pursuing nukes. FP and other sources are now seeing the Cairo speech as a disaster.
4) We can treat Islamic terrorists like criminals. See the backtracking on the KSM civilian trial in Manhattan.
5) Obama could bring us post-race. See the Black Panthers voter intimidation trial, calling al-Qaida racist (probably true, but not really all that important considering), considering racial angles on the AZ trial.
6) Obama will lead the Dems to a generation in power. Looks like Speaker Boehner is a foregone conclusion. GOP has never been stronger and more ideologically coherent. Nuff said.
7) Healthcare nationalization won’t lead to rationing.
8) Obama will pursue the WOT as strongly as anyone else. Uh?
9) Obama is a centrist. I can’t say anything besides the fact this man attacks his predecessor all the time and blames the GOP for all problems (despite them having 59 seats).
10) Obama can change our politics.
